Appearance and display

Tickoff follows macOS light/dark appearance and accent colour. Change these in System Settings > Appearance. There is no in-app theme, accent or text-size preference and no separate Settings window.

The documentation website’s light/dark selector affects only the website, not the Mac app.

In a Tasks view, choose View > Show Notes, or open the toolbar’s More ellipsis menu and toggle Show Notes.

When enabled, each task shows a one-line note preview. Hiding previews does not delete notes, and search still matches their full text. Open the task editor to read or change the complete note.

Choose View > Use Compact Rows, or the same option in More. Compact rows reduce spacing and put the title and metadata together. Show Notes remains a separate option.

Both display options are saved locally and apply across task views. They do not change the dedicated Daily Goals layout; their commands are disabled there.

Use the sidebar toolbar button or Control-Command-S to hide/show it. Drag its divider to resize it within the supported width.

Tickoff uses one main window. Closing that window quits the app; reopen Tickoff to continue with your saved data.
